Winged Freedom Raptor Hospital Volunteer

Volunteers keep Winged Freedom Raptor Hospital running

Volunteers keep Winged Freedom Raptor Hospital running. Everyone from our Veterinarian to our rescue/ transport teams to our on site helpers are completely volunteer. Rescuing and handling raptors require good physical condition and a reliable vehicle. Helping at the hospital generally involves preparing food for the birds (raw meat, fish and rodents), doing laundry and general cleaning. Our volunteers commit to a specific day of the week and return on that day each week to help us. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old. Handling raptors is potentially dangerous work that requires training and expertise. Most of our volunteers do not have direct contact with the birds until they have worked around them and shown proficiency.
