Dr. Ashley Schmal earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 2018.  Prior to that, she pursued a General Biology degree at Purdue University - Calumet.  Since graduation she has experience in both general practice and emergency medicine and has worked with a great variety of species including wildlife and some exotic pets.  Her professional interests include surgery and emergency medicine.

  Beyond her professional ventures, Dr. Schmal enjoys a variety of hobbies including birding, hiking and wildlife photography.  She lives with her husband and many pets of their own including two dogs and four cats.
